The Eastern Yacht Club (EYC), for the first time in more than twenty years, has a new General Manager. Jared Chorney, who began his tenure in February, 2022, grew up on Block Island, though his career has taken him around the country. Jared is happy to be back in New England, having just recently relocated from Michigan.
Jared started his career as an entrepreneur/restaurant owner and operator, and a wine and spirits director at AAA Four Diamond restaurant in Providence. From 2017 until recently, Jared was the GM of a prestigious country club founded in 1909 in Michigan. Under his leadership the club achieved Platinum Status in 2017 and each subsequent year. The club has a premier golf operation with a deep history, though it is just a little younger than the EYC. Previously, he also worked as the Food and Beverage Director at the Inn at Perry Cabin in Saint Michaels, MD; Food and Beverage Director at the Townsend Hotel, in Birmingham MI; and the General Manager for Food and Beverage Operations at luxury hotels with AAA Diamond awards, offering multiple restaurants, banquet space, and leisure operations.
