GYC Sailing Success: von Allmen Wins Gold, Heine Takes on Fastnet
GYC sailor Anja von Allmen won the U23 gold medal at the ILCA 6 Senior European Championships in Marstrand, Sweden. She also secured ninth place among Europeans and 12th overall—a personal best in a very competitive fleet. It was the first time this U23 title was awarded, and Anja proudly brought it home to Switzerland. With her steady progress over the years, she is firmly on course toward her dream: the 2028 Olympic Games.
We also congratulate GYC Members Gauthier and Martin Verhulst, who competed with dedication in the ILCA 7 fleet.

Racing aboard Crusade, a Gurney 64 and treasured Classic Yachting Heritage vessel with an impressive history of victories, Daniel Heine, GYC Sailing Officer, travelled to Cowes to compete in the Fastnet Rolex Race, organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC). Crusade delivered an outstanding performance, finishing:
- 32 of 70 in IRC Class 2
- 7 of 25 in Classic Yacht Home
- 175 of 404 in Monohull Line Honours
- 184 of 380 in IRC Overall
Congratulations to Daniel Heine and his crew for this fantastic result – and to Crusade, proving once again that, in the right hands, she remains a force!
