First Come, First Served at Sailing League San Francisco
St. Francis Yacht Club is pleased to announce that the Notice of Race for the Sailing League San Francisco 2026 has officially been released and registration is open, with 18 available slots allocated strictly on a first come, first served basis.
The event will take place May 30-31, 2026, and is one of two official U.S. qualifying regattas for the Sailing Champions League Final in Rungsted, Denmark (October 2-4, 2026). The strongest clubs from the West Coast will compete in fast‑paced, tactical races for a coveted ticket to the international stage.
Competitors and spectators can look forward to short‑course fleet races, dynamic team duels, and the unmistakable atmosphere of the Bay Area. With steady breeze and the iconic San Francisco skyline as a backdrop, this event promises top‑level competition and unforgettable moments both on and off the water.
The league sailing concept is simple and familiar: it’s club against club, similar to other team sports such football, baseball or ice hockey. This structure brings an exciting dynamic to sailing and fosters team spirit and club culture.
Participation is capped at 18 teams. If you register first, you race.
Organizers are actively seeking additional yacht clubs interested in hosting U.S. Sailing League events in 2026. The goal is to develop West Coast and East Coast conferences, leading toward a “Super Bowl” of club sailing. The unique structure also provides the opportunity to compete on an international level at the Sailing Champions League Final.
