Elevating the Clubhouse Experience at Long Beach Yacht Club

Long Beach Yacht Club has taken deliberate steps to enhance the member experience through a series of programming, dining and amenity driven upgrades. These initiatives are designed to deepen member engagement, modernize offerings, and reinforce the clubhouse as a vibrant social and recreational hub for all generations of our club community.

A standout example of LBYC’s evolving social programming is Curiosity Hour, a theater style salon series held in our Main Dining Room. Presented in a relaxed, talk show format, each event invites high profile guests to share stories and perspectives from their careers. A recent session featured Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell, who spoke about leadership and public service in a dynamic and engaging Q&A with members.

Dining has also been elevated through the introduction of Twenty 9 Prime, our trophy steakhouse experience named for the club’s founding year, 1929. Offered on select weekend evenings, this limited seating dinner includes three curated courses and a complimentary after dinner cordial cart. While exclusive in format, the concept has been warmly embraced by members and adds a new layer to the club’s culinary identity.

To enhance seasonal enjoyment, pool hours have been extended during key warm weather holidays such as Memorial Day and Mother’s Day giving members and their families more time to relax by the water. Looking ahead, LBYC members will be ready to Red, White & Groove at the upcoming Fourth of July Pool Party, which will feature festive entertainment, themed food and beverage, and reserved cabanas for those looking to celebrate in style.

Collectively, these enhancements reflect LBYC’s ongoing commitment to creating memorable, member centered experiences that blend tradition with innovation. Whether through thought provoking events, elevated cuisine, or relaxed waterfront leisure, the club continues to evolve in ways that reflect the energy and spirit of its community.
