Bryon Ehrhart set a new course record on Lucky, an 88-foot Juan K, in the 2025 Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race, completing the 1,250 nautical mile course in two days, 20 hours, and 27 minutes. Lucky also took line honors in the race, co-hosted by the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Sydney and the Royal Akarana Yacht Club in Auckland. The previous race record, set in the inaugural running of the race in 2023, had been held by Geoff Hill on Antipodes at five days, three hours, and 38 minutes. On board Lucky as crew was fellow CYC member Shawn O’Neill, who races his Sydney 38 Eagle out of Chicago’s Belmont Harbor.
