Building the Next Generation of Culinary Professionals

Long Beach Yacht Club has prioritized strengthening their engagement with organizations that support education, workforce development and community impact. This commitment led to a new partnership with Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP).

C-CAP works with local, often under-resourced school districts to provide students with structured training and meaningful pathways into the culinary profession. Through hands-on instruction, mentorship and real-world experience, the program equips students with the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in the culinary and hospitality fields. Through this partnership, C-CAP students complete externships in professional kitchen environments, gaining practical experience while working alongside our culinary team at Long Beach Yacht Club.

A unique benefit of the program at LBYC is exposure to multiple dining concepts within the Club—from our fast-casual poolside offerings to our refined main dining room restaurant, to our exclusive steakhouse, Twenty 9 Prime. This range allows students to experience different styles of service, techniques and operational environments within one property.

We are currently proud to host two C-CAP students, Jackon Marshall & Danny Franco, both from Browning High School in Long Beach. They represent the beginning of what the club hopes will become a lasting tradition of mentorship and training at LBYC, that is already continuing with the addition of Luis Sanchez to the team.

Long Beach Yacht Club is honored to work alongside C-CAP and looks forward to continuing this partnership as we help develop the next generation of culinary professionals.
